CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Mommy & Me

This class is open to dancers ages 18 months to 3 years old and an older dance partner of their choice, it isn’t limited only to Mom!  Together as a pair you will explore dance and movement through games, obstacle courses, and fun!  No need for shoes!  Wear comfortable clothes.  This class DOES NOT perform in our End of the Year Recital.

Class Duration- 30 minutes or 45 minutes

Cost- $40.00 per month for 30 minute class, $46.00 per month for 45 minute class

Offered- Tuesdays 4:15-4:45pm or Thursdays 12:00-12:45pm

 

Ages 2&3 Intro to Dance   

Designed for the new dancer age 2 or young 3 with fun music, lots of action and use of props.  The dancer is encouraged to participate independently and develop their gross motor, cognitive and group activity skills.  This class will perform in our End of the Year Recital.

Class Duration- 30 minutes

Cost- $57.00 per month

Offered- Tuesdays 4:45-5:15pm or Thursdays 11:30-12:00noon

 

Ages 3&4 Combo

This class is intended to be a two year introduction to ballet and tap technique.  Tumble and creative elements are added to help explore rhythms, new ways to move and to continue developing motor skills.  This class will perform both a Ballet & Tap dance in our End of the Year Recital.

Class Duration- 45 minutes

Cost- $65.00 per month

Offered- Tuesdays 11:30-12:15pm, Tuesdays 3:30-4:15pm, Tuesdays 5:45-6:30pm, Wednesdays 4:45-5:30pm, Wednesdays 5:30-6:15pm, Thursdays 12:45-1:30pm

 

Ages 3&4 Tumble

This is a fun class designed to introduce basic gymnastic elements.  Along with continuing to develop gross motor skills, there is a focus on stretching, group games and body awareness.  This class will perform in our End of the Year Recital.

Class Duration- 30 minutes

Cost- $40.00 per month or $12.00 per month as an add on to a Combo class

Offered- Tuesdays 12:15-12:45pm, Wednesdays 4:15-4:45pm

 

Ages 4&5 Combo

A continuation of the techniques begun in the 3&4 class, this class is meant for 4 year olds with 1 or 2 years dance experience and 5 year olds with little to no experience.  Tap and Ballet will continue to be the emphasis with the use of Tumble and Jazz to expand the fun! This class will perform both a Ballet & Tap dance in our End of the Year Recital.

Class Duration- 1 hour

Cost- $70.00 per month

Offered- Mondays 5:45-6:45pm, Tuesdays 12:45-1:45pm

 

Ages 5&6 Combo

This is a Ballet and Tap class with an introduction to Jazz intended for the Kindergarten and 1st grade student.  Dancers will continue to explore the magical world of dance while also continuing to learn technique and terminology.  This class is suitable for those with no dance experience.  This class will perform both a Ballet & Tap dance in our End of the Year Recital.

Class Duration- 1 hour

Cost- $70.00 per month

Offered- Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm, Thursdays 4:00-5:00pm

 

Ages 5&6 Ballet, Tap and Jazz

These classes are intended for the Kindergarten or 1st grade dancer who already has dance experience.  By separating the classes, each is more focused on the style’s specific technique and thus more challenging!  These classes also allow dancers to pick and choose his/her favorite style(s) on which to focus!  Each class will perform a dance in our End of the Year Recital.

Class Duration- 30 minutes each

Ages 5&6 Tumble, Musical Theatre & Hip Hop

Explore the basics of floor gymnastics, the fun world of acting based dancing, or the current craze of street style dancing!

Each class will perform in our end of year Recital. There is no costume to purchase for any of these classes.

Saturday Sessions

This is a non-Recital based option that culminates with an in class performance on the last day.  For a description, see appropriate combo classes.

Ages 3&4 from 9:30-10:15am, Cost- $150.00 includes registration
Ages 5&6 from 10:15-11:00am, Cost- $150.00 includes registration

Sessions offered-
September 22nd through November 17th
January 26th through March 23rd

 

 

What dancers need for 6&under Classes

  • Ballet Shoes– pink  leather ballet shoes.  Please no satin “ballet slippers”
  • Tap Shoes– black patent tying Mary Jane style
  • Jazz Shoes– for Combo classes, dancers may use Ballet shoes.  For stand alone class– tan, slip-on, split sole (starting in Jan)

Please have a bag in which to keep shoes and make sure all are labeled.

  •  Any color leotard and tights!  Dance skirts and shorts are optional.

 

Clogging
Our version of clogging puts a contemporary spin on the traditional version of this North Carolina favorite!

Beginning Clogging- Tuesdays 3:45-4:15pm
For dancers roughly Ages 6-10 with little or no Clogging and/or Tap experience

Int Clogging- Tuesdays 6:30-7:15pm
For dancers roughly Ages 8&up with Clogging and/or Tap experience

 

Class Options for Older Dancers

Pricing for these classes is based on the amount of time taken per week.  For more details about monthly costs, costume and Recital fees, please refer to the Fees & Registration page.

Ages 7&8 Tap- Tuesdays 3:45-4:15pm, Thursdays 6:30-7:00pm

Ages 7&8 Jazz- Tuesdays 4:15-5:00pm, Thursdays 5:00-5:45pm

Ages 7&8 Ballet- Tuesdays 5:00-5:45pm, Thursdays 5:45-6:30pm

Ages 7&8 Hip Hop- Mondays 4:15-5:00pm

Ages 7&8 Tumble- Mondays 5:00-5:45pm

Ages 5-8 Musical Theatre- Mondays 5:45-6:30pm

 

After ages 7&8, class placement is determined by ability level.  Teacher evaluations may be necessary.

If dance experience is limited but a dancer wants to take class on a more advanced level to be with dancers of a similar age, Private Lessons may be required to supplement technique.

These lessons should be scheduled with the teacher of the class and payment made directly to that teacher.  Fees are typically between $30-$40 per hour.
